We were raised in central West Virginia (coal country & dad’s birthplace) outside of Mannington, WV from the early 70s and into the early 80s. The PKs (Preacher Kids) were introduced to country music at an early age and grew up in a country, non-denominational Pentecostal style church. (Jesus was preached, but Hank Williams, The Hag and Jones could be heard.) After growing up, Kenny joined the US Airforce. They reunited and began singing again. They were part of the family’s country gospel group “THE STULL FAMILY” during the late 90s. They were influenced stylistically by the Hinsons, the Singing Cookes and many other Gospel artists. Kenny has been blessed to Minister in preaching and singing throughout the years in many formats and venues. They have shared the stage with such groups as The Lewis Family, Jeff & Sherry Easter, The Browders and Mike Bowling. After a long stint of living apart in different states (Kenny in North Carolina playing in secular bands and Kim in Ohio) and years of dormant, inactivity within ministry, brother and sister reunited once again in 2015 and started helping their father in the local ministry at Word of Life Chapel in Wellsville, Ohio on Sunday evenings. In 2019 Kenny started pastoring at Mount Calvary Community Church in East Palestine, Ohio.
On June 25th 2019 Kim had brain surgery due to multiple aneurysms. Kenny remembers walking into the recovery room with his son, Chance, that day and felt as if “the spirit of death” had smacked him in the face. His heart sank and he was broken inside to see his sister lying in that hospital bed. Kenny asked his son to stand at the door and to stop anyone from entering. As he knelt by his sister’s bedside and did the only thing he could, PRAY! Kenny recalls the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit filling the room greatly. Kim did recover, but with more surgeries to be required. At the time of this surgery, she was told that they couldn’t reach the aneurysm on the right side. She would have to undergo another surgery the following year. Well, that was their diagnosis at the time. After much prayer, the “unreachable” aneurysm moved to the outside of the brain, therefore, no surgery was needed. This was followed by the shrinking of the herniation behind her eye. GLORY TO GOD!
Being faithful in ministry, yet feeling stagnated for the most of 2020 through 2022, Kenny spent a lot of time crying out to God for some direction, a breakthrough or a supernatural intervention. Low and behold, on a late May Friday evening in 2022, Kenny received an unexpected phone call from a Nashville producer. This producer saw a YouTube video of Kenny and Kim and he was intrigued and wanted to meet them. Since then, Kenny & Kim have recorded thirteen (13) original songs, appeared in three music videos and will appeared in the Singing News Magazine April issue. Their goal is to share their testimonies, introduce Jesus, and to minister in whatever capacity God leads them. Giving all the glory to God. In the times in which we live, Kenny & Kim Stull have a great desire to share the Gospel and feel the Lord’s call as he is opening doors of opportunity to testify and encourage all whom would listen.
Kenny plays rhythm, lead and bass guitar, as well as some mandolin.
